Like almost everyone in the world, I don't remember her from the pre-X-files days. She landed the coveted role of Dana Scully after auditioning for the part and getting the nod from Chris Carter who bucked the studio's preference for a sexy partner. But Gillian proved she could be sexy enough..off camera of course. Gillian is nothing like her X-Files character, being a lot more out-going and a lot less stoic in real life. This just goes to show actors might not be the characters they play.
